Gene, I am a new comer to this web site of yours. I have been reading it for several days now and I have agreed with everything I have read so far. I have been “outside the camp”, so to speak for about 10 years now. I have been in search of others, who like myself, would like to meet and begin following the Lord in complete obedience to Him. My problem has been, that I have not found anyone, who is willing to lay down their lives and follow Him. So, I continue on my own doing His will and walking in His ways alone. I am just thankful for this website that believes the way I do. Thank you so much for the encouragment I receive as I continue to read.

“Most believers think that grace frees them from the high standards and demands of the law. Actually, grace enables them to meet those requirements.”

I really like what you have written there as we will never meet te standards of the law by trying ourselves. We need to learn more and more about the grace of God and as we develop our relationship with Jesus (Who is grace by the way)through the study of His Word we will start to live more Godly and holy lives without even trying. This will flow out of our relationship with Him.

The law will allways condemn and put us down, grace “frees” us to rest in Jesus and live!

I do not need God’s appearance on Earth for me.I need God to stop everything that’s happening on Earth. Look what we are doing to planet, to animals, innocent… I suffer greatly for others, not for me. I will be fine when everyone else is at peace.

I am in such a church spoken of in Matthew 10 and I have had these verses coming to mind for quite a while the “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light” and “I did not come to bring peace but a sword” and in an effort to find the passage the first thing I came to was your article. Thank you. I have been trying to fight the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, what I believed to be a “spirit of control” in this church for a year now. I’ll probably be formally kicked out again in about 9 hours, but I know that God called me to this church and if it is time to go I will “shake off the dust from [my] feet” in good conscience because of what you have shared.

Gene…I believe that we were friends back in Canarsie in the 60’s.
We even went to a Met game together with your friend Howie.
I have to tell you that as a Christian in an OPC church on Long Island there is much luke warmness (including myself). There is also much vibrancy among many of our members.
I know a paradox!
